RIP WIP

Dear almost finished Jaywalker in the best colorway of Lorna's Laces that I have ever seen,

I'm really sorry I left you in the bag along with my almost finished novel, somewhere between a wine heavy dinner out with friends in Nolita and karaoke on St. Mark's Place. I should have just finished your toe the night before, but I let my sudden interest in lace shawls come between us. I called the restaurant, the taxi and limousine commission, and the karaoke bar trying to find you- all dead ends. I'll always have my memories of you, the one that got away.

Too bad. Now you have a scar to mark what sounds like a lovely evening. "The night I lost my jaywalker...", a sad ending.

oh no! that is sad. It's actually a fear of mine, that I will lose my WIP. Poor little lost sock, RIP.

I'm sad to hear the loveliness is gone! (and I agree - that's the best colourway of Lorna's Laces I've ever seen).

Ok, is it wrong of me that I would be secretly relieved if my current Jaywalker were to disappear? I love the LL yarn but somehow the sock has become a type of knitting punishment...

having left a nearly finished lace scarf on the seat of an airplane, i can totally relate. now the only question is, will you have another go at it? i have a nice pattern for missoni-inspired opera gloves in case you don't have the heart for the jaywalkers. if so, shoot me an email through my blog and i'll send you a copy! maybe it will help cheer you up. : )

OH NO!
that really is terrible. i hate when my wine makes me forget my knitting. :)
hope you are well.

that's awful. the stuff of my nightmares. i seem to be losing things all the time, but so far no unfinished knitting. i hope someone finds it, and then finds you.
