FO: Phildar Vest
Wow. I really really love this vest. It took a long time to knit, but it was well worth it.
This was my first Phildar knit, and I found the pattern to be very clear and easy to follow. I'm hooked. I already bought the winter 08 pattern book, and am waiting for it to arrive.
Details: Pattern is from Phildar #468, spring 2007. I used 3 skeins of Catalina Yarns Baby Alpaca Worsted. The pattern called for cotton, but I wanted a more drapey look, and the alpaca softened the cables and bobbles. I also sized down the needles. No modifications, except I decided not to an extra finishing step, which was some ribbing on the inside of the sleeves. This took about 2 months to knit, but I started it soon after I moved to New York and I was having trouble finding time to knit while settling in to my new routine.
I love it so much. I'm looking forward to cooler weather so I can start wearing it every day!

Stunning! What's next? We need cold weather!
Gorgeous! I love the latest Phildar too. There are 3 or 4 designs from it that I'm drooling over - which ones are you thinking of making?
What a beautiful job! I love how it looks as part of that outfit.
Sooo pretty. The sweater is great and could totally be used for layering or transitioning between seasons. I have a couple phildar magazines but haven't actually made anything from them. This has inspired me to dust the dust off of them.
Beautiful! I love it!
Looks great! I love your whole outfit!
It's gorgeous! Brava!
What a lovely knit, and what a lovely photo shoot. (And hey, I love those boots!) I too am awaiting cooler weather so that knits can come out of the closet!

All of those patterns are so great!! I love the vest too.. you did a really good job on it!! Are you subscribed to Phildar?? I am dying to get my hands on one of those magazines, especially Special Twenty...
Love the color and textures-beautiful!
It's soo beautiful! What size needles did you use?
Did you knit it in the smallest size? Because Phildars sizing seems on the smaller side.
